Originally based in the heart of the clothing trade in London's West End and the City of London, we made the move to the suburbs of West Hendon in North West London in 1982 leading the way for many other companies to follow due to the high rents and rates in the centre of London. After 26 years, and on our 100th anniversary, in April 2008, we are on the move again to an industrial park one mile from our previous location. This again was due to changes in the makeup of our business. Importing in far larger quantities required us to move to a ‘state- of -the art’ property enabling us to cope much better with increased size of container deliveries. Our current location is easy to reach by public transport and has the advantage of very close proximity to the M1 motorway.
J & J Stern Llp takes its business very seriously indeed, due to the ever increasing demands from consumers for quality products. The company has its own laboratory where we have full-time staff always on hand to undertake testing procedures for its many products before they are despatched to customers. Testing includes checking for shrinkage on cords, colourfastness on its dyed buttons and mechanical reliability on all fastenings. We also have the facilities of several outside companies to carry out specialised testing procedures for us.
Being flexible and ready to adapt to the ever changing and volatile apparel industry of which we are a part is essential to J & J Stern Llp . In addition we are able to source and supply buttons/belts or any other accessory to customers ' own design and to work in close collaboration with them to ensure that the products we supply are tailor made to their specifications.
The company has always been keen to develop new products to add to its range. Nearly 30 years ago we developed our own version of hook and loop fasteners, TAC-FLEX - used for everything from clothing to aircraft seat covers and many other accessories and products.
With our wide range of products and services, J & J Stern LLP reaches every part of the garment and manufacturing industries.
The company looks forward with anticipation to its next 100 years of service to the industry.
